The course also focuses on prevention and emergency treatment. We always have a demonstration pet with us for practice, and well behaved pets are welcome with the understanding that the owner is responsible for their behaviour in class. You receive a comprehensive manual, created with input from veterinarians, a quick guide, and a certificate on passing the exam. Not to mention LOTS of knowledge and practical work on a real wiggly pet.
Topics include (along with many more) :
- Artificial Respiration and CPR
- Bleeding and wounds
- Recognizing and preventing illness
- Bone and joint injuries
- Parasites and poisons
